Tickets

1. Does Universal Express include express access to Mario Kart™: Bowser’s Challenge?

Yes, Universal Express now includes Mario Kart™: Bowser’s Challenge. Universal Express includes one-time (per day) express access to each ride, attraction, and seated show. Express access is a separate line with a shorter wait time. (Does not apply to food and retail locations or non-seated shows.)

2. What is the difference between Universal Express and the Universal Express Add-On?

A standard Universal Express ticket includes 1-Day General Admission and one-time (per day) express access* to each ride, attraction, and seated show. If you haven’t yet purchased admission, this is the best option for convenience.

The Universal Express Add-On also includes one-time (per day) express access* to each ride, attraction, and seated show, but it does not include Park admission which must be purchased separately. This is a great choice for someone who might have already purchased their ticket or has an Annual Pass but wishes to upgrade to skip the regular lines for one visit.

Important Tip: If purchased in advance of a visit date, the price of a Universal Express Ticket (including admission) should be equal to purchasing a 1-Day General Admission + Universal Express Add-On separately. However, this may not always be true for guests who choose to purchase a Universal Express Add-On the day of their visit. If purchasing day of, we recommend guests compare pricing before making a purchase decision if they do not already have a separate park admission.

*Express access is a separate line with a shorter wait time. (Does not apply to food and retail locations or non-seated shows.)

3. Who is allowed to purchase a ticket? Where can I purchase a ticket?

All guests are invited to purchase tickets. Tickets are available online in advance at universalstudioshollywood.com to save vs. Front Gate pricing. While tickets are available at the Front Gate, we do advise visiting our online ticket store before leaving for the park to check if the visit date is shown as “Sold Out.”

Note: Online savings may not apply to same day purchase of 1-Day General Admission.

4. What are ticket prices?

Universal Studios Hollywood offers a variety of ticket types, with pricing based on ticket benefits and seasonality. To learn more about our tickets, please visit our Ticket Store.

5. Why should I buy my tickets online?

Buying online is the most convenient way to get your tickets.

You can save time and money by purchasing tickets in advance online instead of at the front gate. Note: Online savings may not apply to same day purchase of 1-Day General Admission.

Please note that there may be times when the Park reaches capacity and tickets will be unavailable for purchase at the ticket booths.

6. Do you offer Annual Passes?

Yes, we offer different levels of Annual and Season Passes. Benefits and restrictions vary by Pass type.

7. Why is the price online lower than the price at the front gate?

The online price is an advance purchase price that is not available at the front gate. You may purchase your ticket online now at the advance purchase price, but please know that we recommend completing your purchase at least two hours in advance of your visit and that online savings may not apply to same day purchase of 1-Day General Admission. The time to deliver your confirmation email (with ticket attachments) can vary depending on your email service provider.

8. Why are discounted 1-day tickets sold by age online and by height at the front gate?

Certain Park attractions have a minimum-height restriction, so guests under 48 inches (122 cm) tall of any age qualify for a discounted admission price* on our general admission tickets at the front gate.

To simplify the buying process online, guests ages 3-9 qualify for our discounted admission price*. All guests 2 and under enter for free.

Certain ticket types (for example, Annual Passes) are offered with just one price for all guests. For these products, there is no height-based nor age-based discount version.

* The height-based discount cannot be combined with any other discount, promotion or special offer.

9. How will you determine who is under 48 inches (122 centimeters) tall?

This topic is relevant to tickets purchased at the Front Gate ticket booths, not via the online store where tickets are sold by age.

There are signs around the front entrance of the Park that will enable guests and Park employees to determine if someone qualifies for the height discount or not. The height-based discount cannot be combined with any other discount, promotion or special offer.

The measuring devices being used take average shoe height into account. Guest will be measured with their shoes on. There is some leniency built into the measuring signs to allow for shoes.

Note that adults are also eligible for the same discounted admission if they are under 48″ tall.

10. Do I have to purchase a ticket for my baby?

Children 2 years old or younger are allowed to enter the Park for free (no ticket needed).

11. Do you offer group discounts?

While we are not currently offering Group discounts, for any group ticket questions, please call 1-800-959-9688 (Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm PT) or click here.

For all other Park information, please call 866-258-6546.

12. Can I buy tickets through a third-party reseller (e.g. via Craigslist, eBay, etc.)?

We strongly recommend that you purchase tickets directly through us or our authorized ticketing partners to ensure ticket validity and authenticity.

We are unable to verify or guarantee the validity or authenticity of tickets not purchased directly through an authorized sales channel. In the event that invalid, duplicate or counterfeit tickets are presented for park admission, entry will be denied without compensation. Please note that invalid, duplicate or counterfeit tickets may be confiscated.

13. Why did I receive a special online offer, but my friend didn’t?

Universal Studios Hollywood randomly selects recipients to receive promotional opportunities as we evaluate our marketing offers. The system’s testing methodologies limit the number of people we can include in our beta tests so we are unable to add participants.
